ScreenBuddy is an incentive based screen time control app. There are many apps on the market at our disposal at this point. However, this project was researched and designed specifically for parents and young kids in mind. There were two main challenges to provide a solution to in this project. One, including 'Timer' functionality and it must offer something new which is not on the market. To provide for that, developing buyer personas was a critical part of the project. The app tracks and controls user activity per device and results in a star point system. Since this app is designed keeping parents and young kids in the focus, the reward system is based on real time experiences then being converted into another form of screen time usage. Idea is to draw attention to incentives and multi device functionality using the app. Bringing in the feel of outdoors as a background was a conscious decision to make it fun and friendly for its young users.
